the year ahead. a look back.

I am reminded of the Lamentations 3:19-24. Jeremiah was pouring out his heart of anguish to the Lord and summed it up saying, “I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, ‘The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.’” I choose to see God’s hand of faithfulness in the trials we face. I know that if it were not for His great love and grace, I would be consumed. I am truly grateful for the faithfulness of God. I look forward with great anticipation of God’s continued faithfulness and His hand of blessing and favor on the days yet to unfold.
